A Quiet Evening in Altea

On the drive back from Calp to Benidorm, Altea is easy to spot, sitting above the coastline, all white walls and soft evening light.

By the time we arrived, the town had already shifted into its evening mood. The daytime buzz was gone. The streets were quiet, the lights warm, and the sea below had turned dark and still.

Altea at night feels calm in a very effortless way. The whitewashed houses reflect the streetlights, giving everything a soft glow and the narrow streets are made more for wandering than for getting anywhere quickly.

What stands out about Altea is how simple it feels compared to other places along the Costa Blanca. It’s quieter, less crowded, and in the evening, especially, it feels almost still.
